Our Inclusive Financing Activities

The concept of inclusive development, which refers to the participation of all segments of society in economy, production and social life, is one of the most important agenda items of our country in all aspects. At TSKB, we ensure that concrete steps are taken in this vein with the special themed funds which we provide from international development finance institutions such as the World Bank and the AFD (French Development Bank).

Within the scope of our Women's Employment Loan program, which also includes a measurement tool for women's participation in production through employment and improving the physical conditions in the working environment, we first analyse the equal opportunity practices of companies and extend investment loans with preferential conditions to companies whose practices are rated above a certain level. We provide guidance to companies in need of development and offer Advisory in the swift implementation of equal opportunity practices.

Since 2016, we have helped bring about a rapid pace of development in the companies which we have included in the program. At 2021, In these companies the performance growth in areas of development such as policies, education, working conditions and representation in the management has reached 27,9%.

We continue to move forward by creating tangible value towards inclusive development in cooperation with our companies, which include their suppliers in gender equality projects with additional activities, implement new social responsibility projects to increase the production by women, rapidly increase the number of women employees in segments where women had never previously been employed, and thus propel their productivity to beyond expectations.

Within the scope of our other area of focus in inclusive development, we are seeking to expand the access to finance of companies in developing regions affected by the influx of refugees. In this context, we transfer resources to companies in the private sector operating in priority areas for development, which have been affected by migration in Türkiye. We contribute to the improvement of the investment and employment environment in those regions.

With our vision to support employment, we focus on increasing Türkiye's sustainable production capacity. In this context, we put the health and safety of our workforce in the industrial and service sectors at the forefront of our attention and support investment projects which eliminate risks in working life.

Equal Opportunities at TSKB

As a bank in which women account for more than 50% of the employees and managers, we were among the first signatories of the WEP's protocol. In 2018, we were awarded the Equal Opportunity Model Certification, a joint initiation by Kagider and the World Bank, in recognition of our good practices in gender equality. We also support our subsidiaries and the companies which we provide loans to in line with these certifications.

We also provide an important contribution to the field of equal opportunities and women's empowerment with our social responsibility projects.

We provide educational scholarships to female university students through the TEF (Turkish Education Foundation) and to gifted young female musicians through the IKSV (The Istanbul Foundation for Culture and the Arts).

We also take responsibility for raising awareness and increasing good practices in the field of gender equality in the business world. We undertake the sponsorship of the #EşitAdımlar platform, which we established with the SDA-Türkiye (Sustainable Development Association), and that is a digital guide in the field of equality of opportunity for the business world.
