As in all banking activities, TSKB's priority in social responsibility projects is “Sustainability and Inclusion”.

We see our social responsibility projects as an integral part of our banking services and move forward with the aim of reaching more people and institutions in our Bank’s areas of focus.

www.cevreciyiz.com

In 2007, we launched our first sustainability project, www.cevreciyiz.com (We Are Environment-Friendly).

www.cevreciyiz.com is a source of inspiration for the sustainable transformation of the business world with its content covering different subject areas, such as business ideas on sustainability, environmentally friendly designs, alternative energy sources, nature-friendly consumption trends and examples of green architecture. We spread the awareness effect we created with www.cevreciyiz.com to large segments of society by sharing material on social media channels.

Sustainability Workshops

With the Sustainability Workshops we have been organizing since 2012, we aim to raise awareness on sustainability among university students, who are the decision makers of the future. The workshops organized in cooperation with ESCARUS, our group company operating in the field of sustainability advisory, are held at a different university each year. Students participating in the workshops have the opportunity to meet managers from TSKB and ESCARUS to conduct case studies on issues such as climate change, the carbon economy and the environment through a real banking project.

Patara Excavation Works

The preservation of cultural and historical artifacts is treated as a cornerstone of sustainability for TSKB. Since 2016, we have been supporting the works on the excavation of the ancient city of Patara, which is an important cultural asset in our country, in joint efforts with Türkiye İş Bankası and ŞişeCam.

Patara was the capital of the Lycian League and Province, and is located near the town of Kalkan in Antalya's Kaş district. Patara is home to magnificent archaeological ruins with its amphitheatre, parliament, temple, horrea (storage structures), stadium, baths and churches which have survived to the present day.

In addition to the unique monuments such as the "Lighthouse" and the "Road Guide Monument", it also hosts a complex which served as the first Ottoman Radio Telegraph Station from 1905. The excavation of the ancient city of Patara has been carried out over a period of nearly 30 years by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Fahri Işık and Prof. Dr. Havva İşkan Işık, who are faculty members of the Department of Classical Archeology at the Faculty of Letters, Akdeniz University.

The “Empowerment Through Education” Scholarship Fund

We believe that women's participation in the economy offers tremendous potential for the welfare of the country. Access to education is critical in realizing this potential. TSKB supports 3rd and 4th year university students every year with the “Empowerment Throug Education” Scholarship Fund, which we established in cooperation with the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV). Within the scope of our project, we also provide mentorship to those awarded scholarships with the aim of ensuring that more and more women take part in work life.

To date, 180 students have benefited from TSKB’s Scholarship Fund.

#EqualSteps

The digital platform, www.esitadimlar.com, which we implemented in cooperation with the SKD Türkiye (Sustainable Development Association), offers a comprehensive guide to all companies seeking to support women's employment and develop an equal opportunity approach in the workplace.

#EşitAdımlar (#EqualSteps), which is a digital library and uses social media channels effectively, stands out as a platform hosting successful practices from Türkiye and the world, roadmaps, standards and regulations related to the subject and all quality research studies carried out in this field. At least one article is uploaded every day through the web and social media channels.

#EşitAdımlar became one of the 30 best practices among the sustainability or climate-oriented projects led by development banks at the Finance in Common Summit, which is the first global meeting of more than 450 development banks, and which was organized under the leadership of the International Development Finance Club (the IDFC).

The Women Stars of Tomorrow

TSKB’s supports in the field of culture and the arts goes back many years. We have been supporting the concerts within the scope of the Music Festival organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) since 1990.

In line with our carbon-neutral banking approach, we neutralised the carbon footprint from the concerts which we sponsored between 2014 and 2017, enabling the festival's first and only Zero Carbon concerts to go ahead.

With the "Women Stars of Tomorrow" education support fund, which we introduced as part of the Istanbul Music Festival from 2018, we support the advancement of talented young women musicians in their careers in the international arena in the branches of instrumental performances, vocals and orchestra conducting. Women musicians who have received an undergraduate or graduate degree from a music school abroad and are seeking to continue their music education abroad, or those who need support to participate in activities such as master classes, orchestra selection and international competitions which will contribute positively to their career development, or purchase instruments, may apply to this fund.

Our stars, who also give a concert every year as part of the Istanbul Music Festival, are accompanied on stage by veteran artists such as Mses. İdil Biret, Ayla Erduran, Ayşegül Sarıca and Gülsin Onay.

A total of 90 students have benefited from the scholarship fund, 14 in 2018, 14 in 2019, 12 in 2020, 13 in 2021, 16 in 2022 and 21 in 2023.
